Some artists friends and I are starting a rotating sketchbook project. Here's a mask I drew for my last entry. I want to make a small series of drawings of masks based on objects people normally put to their faces. This one takes its cue from a camera.

Aachi & Ssipak? Hell yeah! This movie needs to get out there more. It's one exploding cigar of an animated movie. Go Korea go!

This is a manly mook, who appreciates the art of a real shave, with a real man's/mook's straight razor. But I don't know what the "Bancha"s for.

Would you like to know the theme of my book?
"We are social, and yet we can't be."
This drawing has nothing to do with that.

A drawing of Ira Glass, as I am a total This American Life fanatic.

Still writing over here. Filling sketchbooks faster than ever. Mostly things that will never see the light of a scanner, but I have an idea for drawing mist that I got from reading "From Hell" by Eddie Campbell (which was way to dense for me to read in one library holding, so I had to buy the brick of a book).

Autumn is coming. It's Srom's favorite season! It just makes Mona sleepy.

Concept for Mona's place, very quickly colored in PhoSho. There's going to be so much mist and fog in this book it's not even funny.

I should stop putting just sketches on here and make some REAL work!

New pens, new toys, old habits. I love drawing dudes in suits and ties. What I SHOULD be doing is getting out the mixing gesso and deciding on the look of my book. But for now, please enjoy the little update.

The main cast line-up for my as-of-yet untitled graphic novel. This is my first time writing a script, and while the tedium kills me, I feel pretty inspired about the whole thing. It's been so much fun making up entire town-fulls of names and characters. At the same time, I have been sitting on the name "Srom" for years and I'm finally doing something with it!

This is from way back in February. Dan and Wendi make a nice-looking exhibit, don't they? I don't know who that guy is, but I'm glad he's taking passing interest in Queequeg-a-day. Photo by Cara Brostrom.
